We meet for worship on Sunday evenings, at 5pm, in the main sanctuary on the Church of Reconciliation campus. Our worship services include singing, prayer, Bible reading, preaching, and fellowship. We welcome people of all ages in our worship, including youth and children. We also provide childcare for toddlers and babies.
We try to involve as many people as possible in our worship services. Typically six or more people have active roles each Sunday. There is also a time for anyone in the room to offer a word of response as part of the service. We are an egalitarian congregation where each worship gathering draws from the wealth of gifts of our community. We have rotations of volunteers who share the responsibilities of preaching, song leading, service planning, and childcare. We embody our belief in the priesthood of all believers, which means we trust that God has something to offer through each person in our midst.
A central point of our worship is a time for response and sharing. Since we believe that anyone can offer an interpretation of the Bible, during worship we pass around the mics for people to offer their own reflections on the Scriptures, songs, prayer, and sermon. We also set aside time during the service for individuals to share their needs, concerns, and thanksgivings as prayer.
